E! Entertainment president Adam Stotsky is leaving the network, he announced Monday.

Frances Berwick, president of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment’s lifestyle networks, will assume Stotsky’s responsibilities while determining a replacement, and will be working with him on the transition.

Stotsky joined E! in 2014 as general manager and was named president in 2016. He has been with NBCUniversal for 18 years overall, previously serving as president of Esquire Network, general manager of G4, president of marketing for NBC Entertainment and Syfy’s executive vice president of global brand strategy and market development.

“It’s been a journey of great pride and accomplishment,” he told staffers in an internal memo, adding that he “will be working closely with Frances over the next few weeks to ensure a smooth transition.”

At E!, Stotsky oversaw the network’s temporary expansion into scripted series with shows like The Royals and The Arrangement, and brought The People’s Choice Awards to the network in 2018.

“We transformed a singular hour of TV news and a popular website into the market-leading multi-platform publisher of pop culture/entertainment news, now delivering over a billion engagements a month,” he wrote. “E!’s future is bright.”

In May, Stotsky canceled Busy Philipps’ Busy Tonight talk show after just six months, after previously vowing to Adweek that the network was “committed” to giving the show the time it needed to find itself, saying, “These shows are a marathon; they’re not a sprint.”

Prior to arriving at NBCUniversal, he worked as a vice president of marketing at Discovery Communications, and started his career as an advertising account director at Fallon Worldwide.
