When you upload a video to IGTV on Instagram, the photo- and video-sharing platform will keep track of things like audience retention and all users’ average view percentage. You can view insights for each video you upload within the Instagram application. Our guide will show you how this works.
Note: These screenshots were captured in the Instagram app on iOS.
Step 1: On the video you wish to see insights for, tap the three dots at the bottom of the video screen. Note: To be especially clear, you can only see insights for videos on your own account, and not videos posted by other users.
Step 2: On iOS, tap “View Insights.” On Android, tap “Insights.”
From there, you’ll see a variety of information about the video, including its total views, likes and comments, as well as the average percent of the video that users watched and an audience retention graph that shows when users stopped watching.
