LinkedIn May Add an App Lock Feature for Unattended Devices – Adweek

LinkedIn may be testing an App Lock feature to prevent people from seeing members’ information on the professional network via their devices.

Developer and blogger Jane Manchun Wong spotted the unreleased feature in the code for the LinkedIn Android application.

LinkedIn had not responded to a request for comment at the time of this post.

Wong said in a blog post that App Lock is accessible via the Account section on the Settings page.

It can be set to activate immediately or after five, 15 or 30 minutes of timeout, and fingerprint verification will be required to unlock the LinkedIn app, according to Wong.

She speculated that if the feature is extended to the professional network’s iOS app, it will likely use that operating system’s biometric verification features, Face ID or Touch ID.
