Publicis Sapient Hires Accenture Vet as Chief Talent Officer – Adweek

Publicis Sapient hired a 25-year Accenture veteran to lead its talent department.

Kristi Erickson is stepping into the role of global chief talent officer at Publicis’ digital transformation hub, working directly with Publicis Sapient CEO Nigel Vaz.

“Her extensive background and expertise are aligned with our company objectives to ensure we deliver on our promise to help our clients become digitally enabled to better serve their customers and thrive in the future,” Vaz said in a statement. “Her commitment to inclusion and talent development will be vital to providing the tools for success to our 20,000 global employees.”

Erickson added, “I look forward to partnering with our leaders to build strong, cohesive, world-class teams that help our clients realize their future, create meaningful work and experiences for our people, and make Publicis Sapient a more inclusive and equitable workplace where all people can learn, grow and thrive.”

During her 25 years at Accenture, Erickson became a partner and held roles including executive director of human resources, managing over 100,000 people globally, as well as executive director of HR for North America, leading a team of over 550 in overseeing 37,000 people across the U.S. and Canada. She also served as a member of Accenture’s talent management board. More recently, she founded and served as managing director for Mosaic Talent.

The news is the latest in a series of changes for Publicis Sapient and its holding company this year. Back in July, Publicis Sapient went through a staffing realignment in North America that included layoffs, reassignments and freelance contracts being concluded. Back in February, Vaz succeeded Alan Wexler as CEO of Publics Sapient, with Wexler moving into a chairman role as the company repositioned its brand. In April, Publicis Groupe agreed to acquire Epsilon for about $4.4 billion, a deal which was finalized less than three months later.

Additionally, Publicis Sapient hired Wendy Johansson as global vice president of experience transformation, John Maeda’s first major hire since joining Publicis Sapient as chief experience officer.

“Wendy’s honed ability to lead both like a product manager and product designer are especially meaningful as experiences move from expectations of ‘wow’ to ‘So what have you done for me lately?’” Maeda said in a statement.

Johansson will work closely with Maeda in the role. She was formerly co-founder and vice president of academy and user experience at product consulting company Wizeline.
