A Texas girl, 8, who police said was kidnapped Saturday while walking with her mother in broad daylight, was found safe eight hours later after authorities were tipped off by two area church members who went out looking for the girl.
The brazen kidnapping outside Fort Worth led to the arrest of Michael Webb, 51, CBS News reported. Police said he sped off with the girl, Salem Sabatka, after the girl’s mother put up a fight. The state issued an Amber Alert, which led to the tip from the church members.
Authorities found the car matching the description from the scene outside the hotel and reportedly forced their way into a room at 2:30 a.m. The report said Webb was found with Salem inside the room.
