The CW Pairs Batwoman and Supergirl on Sundays This Fall – Adweek

The CW’s annual superhero crossover won’t occur until November or December, but the network is already teaming up some of those legendary characters in the fall: Batwoman and Supergirl will air together on Sundays, while The Flash and Arrow are paired on Tuesdays.

The network released its 2019-20 schedule—which includes two new dramas in the fall, with one more poised for midseason—on Thursday morning, shortly before its upfront at New York City Center.

The CW opened up another night of prime-time programming last year when it expanded to six nights for the first time since 2009, which gave advertisers even more inventory to target the network’s younger demo compared to the other broadcasters.

Ad sales chief Rob Tuck told Adweek earlier this week that the network will benefit from being the most stable company at upfronts week.

This fall, Monday opens with relocated football drama All American, leading into Black Lightning.

The Flash, which The CW said is its biggest multiplatform hit, kicks off Tuesdays, followed by Arrow, which is returning for its eighth and final season.

Riverdale stays put on Wednesdays at 8, where it will be paired with a new version of Nancy Drew, which the network called a “suspenseful, supernatural reboot of the iconic detective.”

Supernatural, which is ending next year after Season 15, is airing on Thursday, leading into Legacies.

Charmed, which aired on Sundays this season, shifts to Friday, where it will be paired with Dynasty.

The CW doesn’t program on Saturdays, but caps the week on Sundays with its two female superhero series: Batwoman, starring Ruby Rose—who was introduced during last year’s annual superhero crossover—and Supergirl.

The Jonas Brothers will kick off Thursday’s presentation by performing their new singles “Sucker” and “Cool.”
