Twitter appears to be testing a snooze feature that would enable users to temporarily pause push notifications from the social network for one hour, three hours or 12 hours, without changing the settings on their devices.
Developer and blogger Jane Manchun Wong shared screenshots of the feature in a tweet and blog post.
A Twitter spokesperson said, “Our teams are always thinking of new features for people to personalize their experience on Twitter. We’ll share more details on individual experiments as they’re live for people to test soon.”
According to Wong, users in the test group will see a bell button atop the notifications tab in their Twitter applications. Tapping that button displays the different lengths of time for the snooze period. They can also unsnoozed or change the duration.
People who opt to snooze will not see push notifications, but whatever they missed will still appear in their notifications tab.
